Wounds
46This hammer of wrath,
and the lives it took.
Just more names
in the victim's book.
The longer its sheathed,
the more it weighs.
Anxious it becomes
as the mind decays.
And with sharp words,
spawn maladies of the mind.
Creating wounds
of a different kind.
Both muzzle and sheath,
not solely for glamor.
Matters not the wound
by word or hammer.

Well said, well written. I can honestly say that I enjoyed reading this poem. Found this through the hop function-- going now to see if you have any other awesome poetry I can read. :)
